Invisalign
Serving patients throughout Didsbury, Heatons, Withington and Cheadle
We offer Invisalign clear aligners as a discreet option for straightening your teeth. Instead of traditional fixed braces, Invisalign treatment uses a series of clear, removable aligners that are custom-made to gradually move your teeth over time.
Many types of mild to moderate crowding and alignment concerns can be treated using Invisalign aligners.
We provide a range of Invisalign treatment options, from shorter treatments designed to address minor alignment concerns in the front teeth to more comprehensive Invisalign treatments.
During your consultation, we will assess your teeth and show you a digital simulation of how your teeth may move during treatment and the types of tooth movements involved. We will also discuss the expected treatment timeframe and the options available to help you achieve your desired outcome.
Introducing Digital Dentistry
At The Dental Health Practice, we use modern dental technology to help provide efficient, precise and comfortable treatment for our patients.
Digital scanning technology allows us to capture detailed images of your teeth, which can be viewed on screen in real time. This helps us plan treatments more accurately and explain your care clearly.
Our 3D scanning system also provides a comfortable alternative to traditional dental impressions, meaning in many cases we can avoid the use of dental putty. The scanning process is quick and minimally invasive, allowing you to breathe and swallow normally, and pause if needed during the scan.
Benefits of Invisalign clear aligners from The Dental Health Centre in Manchester:
- Removable – Invisalign aligners are removable, allowing you to take them out for eating, brushing and flossing. This can help you maintain your normal oral hygiene routine and continue to enjoy your usual diet. For the best results, aligners are typically worn for around 20–22 hours per day, as advised by your dentist.
- Comfortable – Invisalign clear aligners are made using SmartTrack™ material, which is designed to provide a comfortable fit while gradually moving your teeth as part of your treatment plan.
- Discreet appearance – Invisalign aligners are made from clear plastic and are designed to be discreet when worn, making them a popular option for patients who prefer a more subtle approach to teeth straightening.
The Invisalign treatment process is straightforward and technically advanced:
1. Consultation and planning
Your treatment will begin with a consultation with one of our Invisalign dentists. During this appointment, we may take photographs, X-rays and digital scans or impressions of your teeth. These records are used to create a personalised ClinCheck® 3D treatment plan. This digital planning tool allows us to show you how your teeth are expected to move during treatment and the changes that may occur as your smile gradually aligns.
2. Treatment with aligners
Your aligners are custom-made using advanced digital technology. Once your treatment begins, you will be provided with a series of aligners designed to gradually move your teeth. Each aligner is typically worn for around 1–2 weeks before moving to the next in the series. You will usually visit the practice every 4–6 weeks so your dentist can monitor your progress and provide your next sets of aligners.
3. Maintaining your results
Once your Invisalign treatment is complete, retainers are usually recommended to help maintain the new position of your teeth. Retainers may be removable clear trays, similar to a mouth guard, or a fixed retainer attached discreetly to the back of the teeth.
